My Sweet 3-Year-Old

Well, a couple of weeks ago, Elijah turned three! With all the craziness of being in the hospital with Josiah, we didn't have much time to plan anything. So we just kind of celebrated off and on for about a week :) On his actual birthday, we made pancakes and went to one of the jumping places, went out to lunch and had ice cream. A few days later, he got a whole set of army men from Grandma A and Pops. A couple days after that, we took him to pick out a toy--it was good and bad taking four young children into a toy store, but he managed to pick out some cars and has been really happy with that decision :)
Then, he kept asking about a cake. So a week after his birthday, I finally got around to making a cake. He was so anxious to eat the cake (after helping make the cake and icing), that I finally asked him if he just wanted me to not decorate it. He agreed :) I was pretty glad b/c he wanted Lightning McQueen, and I really wasn't wanting to tackle that. So, we tried to find his new McQueen car to stick on the cake--couldn't find McQueen, so we had to settle for Mater :)

Little man is my snuggler. He's usually very gentle with both Kerith and Josiah and most of the time has lots of fun playing with Mikaela. He loves to read his beginner books to me, and he still copies pretty much whatever Mikaela does and says :) He also decided to start standing to go to the potty rather than sit and is called his big sis "Mikaela" more and more instead of just "Kayla." He keeps us laughing b/c he's so stinkin' cute, but he's turning into such a big boy--definitely not a baby anymore. We're so grateful for his life, and I love thinking back to the day he was born b/c it was such a peaceful, wonderful birth. Happy birthday, Elijah!! We love you so, so much!
