It's a little hard to see, but Kerith's first tooth popped out a few days ago--just a week and a half before her first b-day!

A Mikaela Funny
Last week and this week, Mikaela's spelling words came from some things you'd find in the bathroom. One was "hand towel," and another was "toilet paper." Practically every day, when she'd write her words, she'd put an "l" after the "d" in hand towel and an "l" after the second "t" in toilet paper. I kept asking her why she was putting an "l" in those two words, but I never really got an answer from her. Finally, the other day, when I asked her, she said, "It's not an "l", it's a line! Because they're "pounding" words!"
We've also talked about compound words recently, and she had to draw a line between the two separate words :) I tried to explain that these aren't really compound words--they're just two words used together but still stay separated. She wasn't convinced :)
House
So this is MJ & EM's "creation." They said it was a house. I was a good mommy and actually let them continue in their endeavor upon finding them totally destroying all the play-doh. It's basically a big glob of all the colors, with crayons stuck in all over the place. Taking the picture helped me to remain calm and not go nuts on them, but I have to admit it was VERY satisfying to pick up the glob and throw it in the trash afterwards (after saving all the crayons, of course :) ). And they were having fun together and not fighting, so that was another plus :)

Munchkin Funnies
One day after doing her school work, Mikaela picked out this sticker. So after Elijah finished his stuff, he wanted the same sticker. There just so happened to be another one, so I gave it to him, and we were telling him, "Look, you have a penguin too!" He kept saying, "No, I not haf pinkwun! I not haf pinkwun!" And we'd say, "Yes, you have a baby penguin too." He finally informed us, "No, I not haf pinkwun (pink one)--I haf bwue (blue one)!" :)

One day Elijah was looking out the windows when the septic sprinklers came on. He told me, "I wan go waterpark!" (talking about playing in the sprinklers) I had to inform the poor little guy that was definitely NOT a waterpark :)

After church, Elijah was taking his clothes off to change into some play clothes. He starts saying, "My turkeys, my turkeys!"
So I repeated him, "My turkeys?" He said, "Yes, my turkeys!" (thinking, thinking--light bulb)
Me: "Oh, your khakis?"
Elijah: "Yes, my khakis!"

We finally bought a clock for the kids' room and told them that they can't get up until it says 6:30. Well, of course, this means pretty much nothing to Elijah yet. But one morning, around 7, I hear Mikaela crying/whining in her bed, so I went in to see what was wrong.
Me: "What's wrong?"
MJ: (whining) "Why does the clock have to start all over again?"
Me: "What do you mean?"
MJ: (still whining) "You said we can get up at 6:30, but the clock is starting all over." :) :)
